Model Making
Model making and prototyping methods have changed over the years, but the value of real physical models has not, whether it be a full sized replica of a cooker, an ergonomic handle you just need to feel in your hand, or a miniature piece of street furniture for marketing and display. A background in precise parts being created on the milling machine and the lathe, hand assembled and professionally finished is now enhanced with new tools such as CAD and 3D printing.
Models continue to be a valuable asset to help understand, experience and to present ideas, and can be a great tool for helping resolve engineering issues and to get product development investment on board.
Below are just a few examples of many types of models made for different sectors and a variety of purposes over the last four decades.
