Product Design

Product design is about the creation of attractive and functional products through a series of practical development stages. It can start with an idea, a problem to be solved, a market opportunity, or an existing product in need of improvement, and may require a combination of ergonomics, aesthetics, and design for manufacture for small or large volume.

The project generally starts with concept sketches, developing through computer modelling, rapid prototyping, 3D printing or other types of model (great tools for market testing and sourcing funding), to detail design and specifications for the finished product. We can also work with you on just a key section of the development process, such as visualisation of an idea to explore market reaction and help raise funding. We can also help you explore more sustainable materials with a view to reducing environmental impact whilst maintaining profitability. KDC can provide critical input as part of a client team, or provide a wider skill set often needed for the individual client.
